What's Wrong With Our World [closed]

[Amaterasu has been watching the goings on of Takamagahara with quite a bit of trepidation. Everything has gone off the rails and apparently her brother is to blame. The first Susano'o she knew had not been this destructive and it's making her feel decidedly uncomfortable.]

Aaahhh, I don't know what to do! Can I just keep apologizing like this??

[Somehow, that doesn't seem like enough...]

[Despite being a God of Fortune himself and having shinki that can cook, there's something about the food at Amaterasu's that is just that much more tastier. He sits off to the side, snacking on some kind of sweet, scowling lightly.]

Tch..Don't stress yourself over it. Susuano'o was a loose cannon and he's gonna be taken care of. It'll all blow over just like the chocolate mix up. I don't get why you bother to apologize. They're all ungrateful. It's a waste.

[It's not the deaths or destruction that Susuano brought about that has gotten under his skin. It's the disrespect these new gods and shinki have thrown at Amaterasu. They really need to learn their place. Just cause they are gods doesn't mean they're at the top of the food chain.]

[Amaterasu always makes sure to have her shinki prepare some treats for Fuu whenever he's over. Because he likes it and she likes to please!

She frowns a little at his words, though.]

I don't... I don't want things like this to keep happening, though. We're supposed to be protecting them, aren't we...?

[Fuu chuckles, an brief amused smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. Oh sweet, sweet Ammy. It's enough to make him feel like he's getting a tooth ache. She is so sweet..but delusional.]

They need to learn to stand on their own feet. I get what you mean, but we can't baby them. If you ask me, you already do enough with all those banquets and what not. Bunch of freeloaders..

[Nevermind himself of course. He flips another cookie into his mouth. Hopefully Amaterasu stays here in her temple. A lot of the new gods are way too unpredictable and aggressive. No way does she need to be around them. ]

It can't be helped that they must be 'babied' until they learn.

[There is a resigned smile in her voice as she quietly comes up from behind Fuu, placing one hand lightly on his shoulder for a moment.]

Do you want to help teach them, Fuu-kun? At the moment we only have one experienced god assisting them. Small wonder finding their feet is taking time.

[He does his best not to visabily show it, but once the hand is placed on his shoulder, Fuujin stiffens. This is the one god he never wants to give on the bad side of.]

No way! They're all way too entitled. Have you seen how they talk to Ammy? I'd be more likely to give them a taste of the ground. That, I can do.

[Fuu grumbles, tilting his head back a bit to look at Suijin.]

[Perhaps he can glimpse her red lips turned in a placid smile as she lifts her hand and moves past him, to stand between him and Ameterasu.]

Then you see that you must be patient, or lend more hands to their education. I suspect having some of them 'taste the ground' won't be as effective as you might wish.

[Although a strong hand might work on some of them... in the end, it would surely make things more prickly.

She then turns towards Ama-chan.]

Yes, I have seen how they speak towards her. Ama-chan, you really should have let us handle it. You're in no position to bow your head even fractionally towards these irregular gods. [She shifts her posture slightly and continues in a lower voice,] What's done is done, of course. But surely you see the repercussions spreading out. And despite what Fuujin says, the affair over the chocolates has not blown over. Indeed, it is not far from their minds.

[Amaterasu fidgets a little, playing with the sleeves of her kimono.]

I can't help but feel bad about what's happened, though! I mean... I know it's not my fault, but...

[She trails off, looking off to the side a little helplessly.]

I just don't know what to do... Fuu-kun seems to think they should learn on their own, but...

[...wibble...]

If they want our help they need to ask more politely....

[No sooner does he grumble that does he catch sight of Amaterasu staring to wibble. Oh Crap! SHIT SHIT SHIT! He didn't mean to do this! He stands upright, waving his hands.]

A-Ammy! Don't be so hard on yourself. Everything will work out. Just give it some time. You're not alone on this. We're here to help you every step of the way...

[PLEASE DONT CRY, He doesn't know how to handle that okay?! He looks to Suijin, HELP PLZ NOW!]

[It's too late now, Fuujin. Amaterasu has tiny little tears rolling down her cheeks that she is pushing away with the heels of her hands.]

I... I'm sorry...! It's all my fault... I'm just not good enough yet...

[Apparently she's gonna keep blaming herself despite his words, oops.]

[Fuu-kun, you have such a huge soft side for Ama-chan~ watching you panic over her is sweet.
But making the sun goddess cry is not a good move. She meets Fuu's glance but doesn't respond to it.

Rather, Suijin crouches down beside Amaterasu, lifting one hand to stroke gently at her head.]

Don't say it's 'all' your fault when that is simply impossible. Fuu is right- we are here for you. You don't know what to do, so let us put our minds together to think of something, all right? For instance, you can continue to show the new ones compassion.

[ More Compassion?!?! Oh c'mon! He shoots Suijin a look over Amaterasu's head, throwing his arms in the air for a quick second. Really Saijin?!
He doesn't like that idea. Not at all. The newer gods are so ungrateful on everything. Amaterasu's compassion is wasted on them!

But...

His gaze drops back to Amaterasu and it visabily softens. With her like this, he can't really vocalize his thoughts. He bites his tongue for now. An exasperated sigh escapes his lips as he rubs the back of his neck]

Whatever you decide, we'll have your back on and talking about it might come up with more ideas like Suijin says.

[Amaterasu raises her eyes to look between the two of them. It's so strange whenever they actually agree on something, but it's always so nice too.

In fact, it's so nice that Amaterasu can't help but smile brightly. The sort of smile that literally lights up a room, like the soft kiss of sunlight through a window in the morning.]

Thank you Sui-chan, Fuu-kun! I don't know where I would be without you guys!

[Yes, really. She does see your frustration, Fuu. But should they have to become strict on the newcomers, it will be helpful if they think that they can turn to Amaterasu...
She will explain her reasoning to you later.

Where, indeed...
Although her eyes are a little sad at that, she pats the bright Ama-chan on the head once more and smiles in return.]

You're welcome. For now, just keep brightening both Shores with your honest smile.
